Five Secret Natural Allergy Remedies To Try
Posted by admin on Nov 12, 2009
Approximately one out of every ten Americans suffers from allergies of some type. Allergies are the body’s natural reaction to any foreign substance. When the body encounters one of these substances, it produces many different substances, including histamines. Once released into the body, these cause tissue swellings called allergies. Allergies can affect many different parts of the body including the lungs, skins, nasal passages, sinuses, and stomach. Symptoms of an allergic reaction can include intestinal pain, bloating, mood swings, exhaustion, throat swelling, difficulty breathing, increased heart rate, swelling or bloating of the skin, watery eyes, itchy nose, and sneezing. There are many things that cause allergies including pollen, mold, flowers, dust mites, grass, and spores. Additionally, food and chemicals can be an allergy trigger. The medical community has come up with all sorts of ways to treat allergies, but many people shy away from modern day medicine because of the extensive side effects associated with some of the treatments. It is often the case that the treatment is worse than the cure.
One natural allergy remedy is butterbur. Butterbur is a plant that grows in marshy areas and has three foot leaves. They can be found across Europe, in Asia, and in North America. It is a gentle, natural remedy that is free of antihistamines for those who wish to treat hay fever. It has been used for centuries to treat all sorts of ailments, but it has been found most effective at treating allergy style symptoms. It can also help reduce the muscle spasms associated with allergies. Butterbur is typically taken in tablet form, as the plants themselves can be toxic if not properly processed. The roots are dried, beaten to powder, and combined with other natural ingredients to create the tablet. It is best to take one tablet three times a day, but consult the packaging for more specific instructions.
Another natural allergy remedy is locally grown honey. This product can assist with hay fever and other pollen allergic reactions. It is important to start with small amounts. Approximately a teaspoon per day should help. You must first ensure the honey agrees with your body. If it doesn’t, discontinue use immediately. If you notice discomfort in the gastrointestinal area, it is important not to use it again. The goal is to work up to several teaspoons per day to ward off hay fever. If you decide to use honey, be sure to do several things first. Talk to your doctor before you try any natural remedies. Remember that you might have a bad reaction to the honey. Not every treatment works for every person. You should only purchase non-pasteurized honey. The honey should be purchased from a local beekeeper or at a local farmer’s market to ensure the freshest quality available is consumed. Try to make sure the honey was collected at the same time of year that you suffer from allergies. This will increase the effectiveness of this cure. To make sure you get the best results possible, use the honey one month before your typical allergy season. Using it in the midst of your difficult season won’t be enough. Also, do not heat the honey. It decreases its natural healing properties. One last note, begin with a small amount and increase gradually.
Another natural allergy remedy is green tea. People who regularly consume green tea have noticed that they suffer less from sneezing, coughing, and watery eyes. Green tea is best consumed in purer forms. Don’t pollute it with additives like honey, and don’t use chemically processed tea either. It is important that you consume at least one cup per day. You should try to work your way up to three cups per day. It does not matter if the tea is consumed hot or cold.
An additional natural allergy remedy is Echinacea. This herb has been known to treat all sorts of problems, including hay fever. It aids in the production of interferon, which assists with decreasing the swelling in tissues, which, in turn, helps stop the runny nose and watery eyes associated with allergies.
One final natural allergy remedy is vitamin C. You become extremely susceptible to allergens if your diet does not contain enough of this essential vitamin. Vitamin C detoxifies foreign substances entering the body and strengthens your cells. Dosages can be up to one thousand milligrams per day.

What Are The Best High Blood Pressure Herb Preparations?
Posted by admin on Nov 12, 2009
As more people are educating themselves on how to look after their health, there has been a growing popularity in the use of supplements and alternative remedies and herbal preparations to both prevent and also to relieve symptoms of conditions that they may have. So, what are the best high blood pressure herb preparations?
Many industrialised nations are facing an epidemic. The adoption of a life that is filled with “Westernized” convenience and jobs that do not require the person to be active is leading to an increased number of cases of people suffering with diabetes, heart disease and raised blood pressure.
Unfortunately, although the repercussions of high blood pressure are grave, many of those who suffer with the conditions are not aware as there is usually no outward sign. This is why it is often referred to as the silent killer.
For centuries Chinese and Indian healers have been using herbs like garlic, basil, dill weed, ginger, marjoram and oregano to help lower blood pressure, and there is growing evidence that they can help a person regulate their blood pressure, but are unlikely to relieve the condition completely.

These herbs contain high levels of antioxidants, and so can be beneficial for the immune system, and also can act as a relaxant. Many of them will also effect the way in which a person’s blood vessels expand and contract allowing the flow of blood being pumped by the heart to be much freer and easier.
Some of the herbs are natural blood thinners like garlic. In trials carried out it was shown that those patients taking either fresh (raw) garlic or pure garlic oil showed a reduction in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings.
Garlic also helps reduce the levels of cholesterol and other kinds of plaque building up in the blood vessels, and dilate the arteries so the heart can more easily push blood through them.
Another herb, which seems to contain many of the beneficial qualities of garlic, is hawthorn. This small shrub which is a member of the Rose family, was traditionally used to ward of evil spirits in medieval times by hanging a branch over the entranceway into the house.
A study that was conducted on people who suffered with type 2 diabetes found that after 16 weeks of taking the hawthorn extract that their blood pressure had dropped. It also showed that there where no adverse reactions with other drugs the participants where taking.
It is important to discuss any herbal or alternative supplements that you are considering taking with your doctor. Many natural alternatives or complementary preparations will not interact with conventional blood pressure medication, but some of them do so its best to be prepared.
For instance, Garlic is a natural blood thinner, so it may interact with other blood thinning medication and the doses may need to be amended to get the same effect.
This article has only touched on a couple of High Blood Pressure Herb Preparations that are available. For more information sign up for our free newsletter below.

A Natural Cure for Panic Attack Problems is Best for Your Health
Posted by admin on Nov 12, 2009
Many people want a natural cure for panic attack problems. For many years, drugs and counseling have been the only panic attack remedy available for sufferers. But now there are a variety of remedies available right from your own home. After discussing risk factors, causes, and diagnosis with a medical professional, you can consider working some of these natural techniques into your life.
Reduce Life Stressors
One important way to reduce the frequency of panic attacks is to reduce the level of anxiety or tension in your daily activities. Lowering the amount of stress in your life is an easy first step to reducing the amount of panic attacks. Spend more time doing the things you love to do and less time doing the things that you do not like doing. Of course we all still have to go to work, but after a long day of work, spend your evenings doing what makes you happy. Soon your day of work will be filled with anticipation over your evenings instead of anxiety over work.
Relaxation
Relaxation exercises can also be a great way to reduce your stress levels and may even fend off a pending panic attack. Continually test your relaxation abilities to help build your skills in this area. Doing your relaxation exercises on a daily and consistent basis will reduce your overall stress level. Carve out a specific time of day that is just for you. It will soon become a time that you look forward to everyday.
Exercise
Exercise is a great stress reliever for your body. Regular exercise will get your heart rate up and your endorphins moving. Your body will be able to get rid of toxins faster and relax easier when you stick to a regular exercise program. You do not need to run a marathon, just try to get your heart rate up at least three times per week for 30 minutes or more.
Support
Although many people are anxious about seeking help from a support group, they can often be the best help for an anxiety disorder like panic attacks. Being able to talk with others who are going through the same things can be very helpful. The Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA) has meetings in hundreds of cities across the country.
Diet
Drinking plenty of water will help flush toxins out of your body and eating healthy foods will keep your body operating at its best. Avoid high sugar and fat foods, as they will cause a build up of toxins in your body. Eating a balanced diet has always been a recommendation for people suffering from anxiety disorders, but it is generally a good idea for everyone!
Incorporating natural remedies into your panic attack treatment is easy and can be done gradually. Simply pick one thing and start doing it slowly. If you start incorporating exercise into your life and are able to stick with it, then add eating a balanced diet to your plan. Slowly try to incorporate all five natural remedies and you will quickly be on your way to a newer healthier you!

Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Story, ‘The Minister’s Black Veil’?
Posted by admin on Nov 10, 2009
What Does Hawthorne Mean When He Says That One’s Heart Is The "saddest of all prisons"??
Exactly that. You hold things in your heart. No prison can be as bad as the prison you put yourself in. It refers to Guilt. Pax-C
Should Evan in Twilight be force fed garlic and have his heart pierced with a wooden stake?
Posted by admin on Nov 10, 2009
Part of the fun of enjoying a vampire story is that they go around attacking innocent girls. Stupid Evan falls in love. How lame is that? He is like a gay vampire. This English vampire needs to be put away. Get a wooden stake made of oak and split his heart in two. Then get some whole garlic and press it and make Evan eat it raw.
Edward? Evan? It shows the level of my devotion. That dumbazz needs to be destroyed. Does anyone have a wooden stake?
I wish someone would pierce my heart with a wooden stake If I had to sit through Twilight.
About taking tons of vitamin C? How much of it can the body use and what happens to the rest?
Posted by admin on Nov 10, 2009
With the use of Vitamin C
is there a limit to how much is useful to take, and what does the body do with the rest? Details please , can anyone explain, thanks
Have there been any studies on taking tons of vitamin C? At Universities or other places of research?
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) plays a role in collagen, carnitine, hormone, and amino acid formation. It is essential for wound healing and facilitates recovery from burns. Vitamin C is also an antioxidant, supports immune function, and facilitates the absorption of iron.
Are multi-vitamins O.K. with heart medication?
Posted by admin on Nov 10, 2009
The answer would depend on several factors such as the particular heart medication(s) you are referring to (e.g. there are statins, beta blockers, different types of diuretics, ACE inhibitors, and drugs like nitroglycerin) which are fine to take with one multivitamin daily. For drugs like digoxin and coumadin, the answer isn’t a simple "yes" or "no," there are other factors to consider before taking vitamin supplements (such as your diet, how long you’ve been taking them). As one example, some multivitamins contain vitamin K, which can alter the effective dose of coumadin (aka warfarin), depending on whether or not you are consistent in taking the multivitamin (with vitamin K) daily.
In other words … I don’t know.
If I were you, I’d ask the doctor who prescribed the medication(s). He or she gets paid a lot of money (and has the knowledge) to answer these types of questions. Alternatively, you could ask your pharmacist. Like the previous poster alluded to, you never know the true credentials of people on this anonymous site, so you could get some "fantastic sounding," and "definitive" answers that are completely wrong.
Magnesium supplements?/ heart?
Posted by admin on Nov 10, 2009
The cardiologist said my tricuspid and mitral valves close asymmetrically so my heart goes, "lub lub dub," instead of other people’s, "lub dub."
He suggested that I take a magnesium supplement, so I will try that.
Does anyone know if that is good for your heart?
Or what it amounts to if you have this asymmetrical valve closure?
He said it does not appear to be MVP after all, unless that occurs episodically.
Thank you! I used to, and sometimes still do, drink a large mug of either black or green tea in the morning.
I was thinking I should cut out caffeine though if I have this heart thing. However the cardiologist did not say that.
I can’ t find much on the Internet about this asymmetric valve thing.
Magnesium is good for heart rythm. You can take it with calcium but be sure to take a little vitamin d with it. D gets the calcium into the bones, so it doesn’t stay in the blood and get in the arteries. Dont take too much vitamin d, check the rda, lately they’ve increased it somewhat cause they see new benefits of it.
Your doctor sounds wonerful- he’s trying nutrition. You are fortunate!
I get palpitations myself, I avoid caffeine- chocolate, coffee, .
does anyone know any home remedies for a kitten with heart-worms?
Posted by admin on Nov 10, 2009
my brother’s 2 year-old has a kitten with heart-worms and I want to help
Has a kitten with heart worms? How old is this kitten? It’s pretty unusual for a cat to ahve heartworms (although it does happen) and almost unheard of for a kitten. If the kitten is under 6 months old it’s almost impossible for it to have heartworms. Are you sure the kitten doesn’t have some other type of worms (intestinal parasites) such as tapeworms or roundworms, which are much more common in kittens.
