Magnesium is good for heart rythm. You can take it with calcium but be sure to take a little vitamin d with it. D gets the calcium into the bones, so it doesn't stay in the blood and get in the arteries. Dont take too much vitamin d, check the rda, lately they've increased it somewhat cause they see new benefits of it.
Your doctor sounds wonerful- he's trying nutrition. You are fortunate!
I get palpitations myself, I avoid caffeine- chocolate, coffee, .
References :
...yes I take magnesium actually a calcium magnesium tablet combination...it calms my heart and any stress I may have...it helps ease your nerve contractions.

However I have started taking something that even better, try it you may be very surprised. I now drink Black tea...not just any Black tea but the Chai type (which contains cinnamon and ginger). I brew it as the packet instructs and I add about one ounce of lemon to the drink which boost the effects.

...it works incredibly well..so far I have talked six other people at my job into trying it and now they have been drinking it on a daily basis for the past couple of months.

...it may be a great answer to your heart problems...research now state that people drinking Black tea die 20% less from heart desease than the general population.

...just a reminder, drink the Chai Black tea that contains the cinnamon and the ginger...the combination with lemon produces the really amazing effects. You may wish to check in Web MD to get some information on your paticular heart condition.

I ALMOST FORGOT LAY OFF THE CAFFINATED SODAS THEY WILL MAKE YOUR HEART WORSE.
