Water fasting, any heart burn remedies?

Posted by admin on Nov 16, 2009

*Please don’t post negative comments about fasting, im aware of what i’m doing, thanks for caring though!*

This is my third day water fasting, so far so good, very mild hunger pains if any, but I have one problem, heartburn!

Drinking a tall glass of water calms it down a little bit, but does anybody have a remedy for heartburn while water fasting?

Thanks in advance, any advice will be much appreciated.

Please be aware that heart burn is not related to the heart. It is related to acid reflux from your stomach to your esophageus. In medically term this is GERD.

Conservative treatment for GERD is to loose weight, avoid tea, sleep with a few pillows, stop smoking and drinking.

Medical treatment will include some anti acid H2 blocker that inhibit acid production. Famotidine, Ranitidine will be good options. If that does not help try some proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole. They works better, but they are much more expensive.
