Why do you think this? Do you have a murmur or a congenital heart defect? Some defects do need a repair and often they are surgical but not all defects necessarily need immediate repair. Please discuss your concerns with a doctor.

If by an "opening in the heart" u mean a hole in ur heart, then yea, there is a cure. It's a birth defect some ppl are born with (I had it) and sometimes it closes by itself but other times you have to have surgery. There are diffrent kinds of surgerys that can do depending on the hole's size and other things like that. I had two surgeries: one didn't work because the hole was bigger than they thought, the other was open-heart surgery and that worked perfectly. If u are talking about something else, please add more specific details.

I would assume that surgery would be able to fix it. But I'm not exactly sure of what the person has wrong with their heart.

Surgery I had an onformed heart valve when I was a baby and I still have a scar on my chest.
