is it good to give dogs garlic pills ???

i heard that if you give your dog garlic pills every other day that it keeps fleas away ,makes their coat shiney, and makes their heart stronger. has anyone ever tried this?
I give my dobie the Brewers Yeast/Garlic tablets daily. She is constantly outside and getting into water or mud, so she gets plenty of baths. The flea treatments you can get at the vet just weren’t working b/c she got wet all the time. I started using the garlic almost 2 years ago and haven’t seen a flea on her since, and we go camping and hiking throughout the year. She’s never bothered by mosquitoes, fleas, or ticks.

i use garlic on my dogs every day and have yet to see the lil buggers on my dogs….they are rubbed with garlic every week and have garlic tablets every day as they kill any infestation from the inside i wont use fleaspray as there is no need when garlic does the same for bout 68p a clove

I would double check with the dose but I think you can. There are better stuff out their for fleas though. Frontline and advantixs are real good. Your vets sells them. ALso if your dog is on the heartworm preventative called "Sentinal", that has a flea birth control in it that breaks the flea cycle.

Supposed to help keep the fleas and mosquitos away, or so I’ve heard. I’d still frontline my dogs and keep them on heartworm preventative. The garlic tabs would be an additional line of defense but NOT the first line!
But the garlic won’t hurt ‘em and many dogs really seem to like it.

I add fresh garlic to my dogs’ food on a daily basis. I have never had a problem with fleas on my yard and have never used a commercial flea deterrent.
