you can drink what you like. that is what i do. below are all whites. i have excluded chardonnay, i think it has way too much going on as far as flavor. i avoid it.

sauvignon blanc, white may be a little too dry, the only white i drink

vorey(sp) French white on the full bodied sweet side

Riesling, sounds like what your date would like

pinot gris, very light slightly sweet
References :
There is a wine that doesn't get much attention that you both might like. It is Mead. It is a sweet white wine that is made from honey. You should be able to find it in a well stocked liquor store.

It has become one of our favorites when nothing else will work. We serve it in ceramic wine glasses because of this wine's origin. It is from Medieval times and was the drink of choice in the castles in the old world.

Another sweet white that you might fall in love with is Ice Wine. It is not the cheapest choice, but it is quite lovely and commonly consumed as a dessert wine.

Even if you go with a light, sweet Reisling or a sweet Zin, this one is worth a try.
References :
Bon Appetit!

A nice sauvignon blanc would enhance the flavors of the sprimp. I prefer Kim Crawford from New Zealand. You can purchase it at Costco.
References :
Hey, I know this recipe...LOL...Not much for wine...if she specifically asked for wine then try something white and if not, then make iced tea to hit that sweet spot...Since you have Italian dressing in the main course be sure to offer a creme dressing for the salad and add cheese and maybe bruchetta to the garlic bread. Top off with a cheesecake and you're set. You can always have a nice Chianti after dinner...
References :
wkd

white zinfadel for sure.

I love wine and the white zinfandel is very light and sweet-most women love it. It goes wonderfully with pasta.

here is a link for more info. Sutter home makes great wine at a very decent price. Most grocery stores will carry it.

Red wine is a somewhat "sweet" wine and it goes well with pasta and shrimp. It is a bit high on the price scale however.
References :
Most women may love white zinfadel, but where are talking about a husband here, i'm pretty sure she married a MAN.
