Are there any herbal garlic drinks or ways to eat a lot of garlic every day??

Posted by admin on Sep 26, 2009

My doctor told me to incorporate a lot of garlic into my diet to reduce cholesterol/ heart problems and as a natural antibiotic.

Are there any recipes that you know of like a garlic herbal drink or recipes with heavy garlic???

I believe you can by a garlic supplement pill at most health food stores or in the health department of your drug store.

Other than that, most of the time I use olive oil to cook I add in some crushed garlic.

While I’ve never had elevated cholesterol levels I eat a bowl of Cheerios every morning or oatmeal as oat is a great way to keep your levels down. I also take the One a Day vitamin which is made for keeping levels down.

I’m high risk for heart disease any suggestions for good food low in salt? Do you have to cut out fat and salt

Posted by admin on Sep 24, 2009

I just found out that I’m at high risk for a heart attack. No big surprise to me actually because I knew it was coming. But I was told to stay off the salt eat foods with no sodium. What about other factors like high in sugar or fat. What if it is low in salt but high in another area how do I know what is good? I heart garlic is good for your heart but doesn’t it have salt in it.

IMHO, it is more important to limit fats than salt. Here is a web page with some guidelines:

http://www.pcrm.org/resources/education/nutrition/nutrition1.html

There are also a lot of books, written by doctors, along the same lines, and most of them have recipes, too. I think almost all of them are low-salt as well as very low-fat. They are also all vegetarian, since it is very difficult to have a truly low-fat diet while eating animal foods. Look for books by Dean Ornish, Caldwell Esselstyn, John McDougall, Neal Barnard, and Joel Fuhrman. The China Study by T. Colin Campbell is fascinating reading, too (no recipes, though). It is definitely possible for food to be low in salt and fat. You just need to be creative about finding other ways to season it.

It is good that you have found this out before having a heart attack. I hope you are able to turn it around.

Does Anyone know that Garlic is good for your Heart?

Yes, and the first girl is right. I cook almost ALL our meals with minced garlic and my husband and I don’t get sick anymore. Even though he used to always get sinus infections. Not anymore though.
Garlic, doesn’t just take great – it’s great for you! ;)

umm, not sure what the candida is, sorry. But I know that some people are sensitive to garlic, my grandfather is, in fact he has the same symptoms that you do.

What factors does garlic have which causes high blood pressure and tension to decrease?

Posted by admin on Sep 18, 2009

I’m very much interested in knowing the factors or components of garlic which causes high blood pressure and tension to effectively decrease only a few minutes after taking it. I would also like to know the benefits and disadvantages that the biochemical components of garlic has for the heart. :)
What are the nutrients in garlic that the heart accommodates for it to help decrease blood pressure and tension??

Why are you supposed to take the heart or the inside of garlic?

Posted by admin on Sep 16, 2009

I didn’t know garlic had a heart. You use the whole clove and there are about 10 "cloves" to a head of garlic. They must be peeled of course, just like anything else. Hope this answers your question.

why does hummus give me heart burn is it the raw garlic?

Posted by admin on Sep 14, 2009

i made homemade hummus today with only garlic clove and now im burping fire and acid.

it does the same to me. Try roasting the garlic-just rub a few cloves with olive oil and salt, wrap loosly in foil, and roast in a 350 oven for about 20 minutes. The roasting breaks down the enzyme that creates acid-works for me and actually tastes better. You can also roast some red bell peppers for added flavor and texture. Hope this helps. I love my homemade hummus-I use a little extra tahini for a more creamy texture
