What are the effects of supplement potassium on a person with heart disease and diabetes?

Posted by admin on Aug 24, 2009

thanks

First, no one should take potassium without the supervision of a doctor. Too much potassium can cause renal and cardiac damage which can be fatal. Someone who is diabetic should never, ever take any supplements without the advice and supervision of a doctor.

HEART ATTACK=Lack of Vitamin C? Part2/2

Posted by admin on Aug 24, 2009

THE CAUSE OF HEART DISEASE (from www.herbaladvantage.com/includes/heart-1 x.htm).

Science has known for almost two decades that damage to the walls of blood vessels (or lesions) are a necessary precondition for the formation of atherosclerotic plaques. Competing theories for the reason this damage occurs include a) oxidized or Glycated cholesterol in the blood b) oxidized homocysteine in the blood and c) vitamin and mineral deficiencies. The oxidized cholesterol and homocysteine theorists, while pointing to their own experiments, have yet to explain why infarctions are usually close to the heart, i.e., where mechanical stress is great, rather than randomly disributed throughout the body. Nor do these theories satisfactorily explain why animals, that produce their own vitamin C, do not suffer the same disease.

During the last decade, 2-time Nobel Prize winner Pauling and his associate and heart researcher Dr. Matthias Rath, M.D., independently formulated their own assessment regarding the cause and nature of occlusive heart disease. They agree that heart disease is essentially a repair process that is started by a lesion; their theory explains the primary reason these lesions occur. Accordingly, Cardiovascular disease is a natural body healing process for the walls of arteries and veins weak from insufficient collagen, a condition caused by inadequate vitamin C in the diet.

Since vitamin C is a powerful anti-oxidant, it would be a prudent remedy even if either the oxidized cholesterol or oxidized homocysteine theories have merit. Experiments are needed to determine whether either oxidized substance is dangerous when the body pool of vitamin C is high, such as the case with most animals.

how come doctors didn’t figure out how to cure heart disease?

Posted by admin on Aug 23, 2009

how come doctors in hospitals didn’t find a cure for diseases like heart disease and lung disease?

Doctors are not medical researchers so they would not be the ones investigating "cures" in the first place. Doctors diagnose and treat illnesses based on research performed by scientists. Diseases are very complicated. Even developing a drug that may just treat an illness can take up to 20 years of testing and most drugs tested never make it to market. Many diseases are caused by multiple problems and sometimes the system is poorly understood so more work needs to be done to understand what causes the disease before we can even begin to treat it.

Which vitamins and supplements are good for people who has high cholesterol and heart problems in the family?

Posted by admin on Aug 23, 2009

Both my father and my uncle has had heart attacks and my uncle has also had a stroke.
I already try and follow a healthy balanced diet, and now I would like to know what vitamin supplements will be good to take to help?
Also should I incourage my father and uncle to also take supplements?

Go common sense natural, walnuts for the best omega 3 and to clean out your arteries, vitamin C, There is an excellent recipe to lower your cholesterol with niacin, psyllium and lecitine in the book “Your heart, your health”. My friend brought his cholesterol down from over 240 to 176..Breathing slowly and intentional and enjoy your life, very useful. Stress is a bad advisor, drink enough water and avoid fried foods…eat healthy.

Also look into EFT the self help technique that covers it all simple in a one minute sequence.

What is a good energy supplement? One that actually gives you energy not the crazy heart jitters.?

Posted by admin on Aug 21, 2009

Thanks ahead of time for the help!

Any offensive answers or answers about illegal drugs will be reported. I am not looking to get high, just need some energy. Thanks!
Awesome feedback!! I am a swimmer and just got back into it and need something to help me push through those afternoons when my arms and legs are done!! I really appreciate it!!

I do triathlon training (spinning cycling, track and swim) and have been weight training for over 5 years. What i have found unbelievable helpful is taking Coenzyme Q10 and CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid, plant-derived). I have noticed a difference in my stamina and muscle development, as well as in my skin and hair. These can be taken safely, as long as you buy good quality products and follow the label indications. I get mine at my local GNC.

And please, don’t even think about trying stuff like Red Line or Hydroxycut, they are really bad for your health.

Vitamin D: Essential for Prevention of Diseases

Posted by admin on Aug 20, 2009

Vitamin D: importance in the prevention of cancers, type 1 diabetes, heart disease, and osteoporosis.

The purpose of this review is to put into perspective the many health benefits of vitamin D and the role of vitamin D deficiency in increasing the risk of many common and serious diseases, including some common cancers, type 1 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and osteoporosis. Numerous epidemiologic studies suggest that exposure to sunlight, which enhances the production of vitamin D3 in the skin, is important in preventing many chronic diseases. Because very few foods naturally contain vitamin D, sunlight supplies most of our vitamin D requirement.

25-Hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] is the metabolite that should be measured in the blood to determine vitamin D status. Vitamin D deficiency is prevalent in infants who are solely breastfed and who do not receive vitamin D supplementation and in adults of all ages who have increased skin pigmentation or who always wear sun protection or limit their outdoor activities. Vitamin D deficiency is often misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia.

A new dietary source of vitamin D is orange juice fortified with vitamin D. Studies in both human and animal models add strength to the hypothesis that the unrecognized epidemic of vitamin D deficiency worldwide is a contributing factor of many chronic debilitating diseases. Greater awareness of the insidious consequences of vitamin D deficiency is needed. Annual measurement of serum 25(OH)D is a reasonable approach to monitoring for vitamin D deficiency. The recommended adequate intakes for vitamin D are inadequate, and, in the absence of exposure to sunlight, a minimum of 1000 IU vitamin D/d is required to maintain a healthy concentration of 25(OH)D in the blood.

what vitamins that is good for the heart to eleminate heart skipbeat?

Posted by admin on Aug 20, 2009

anybody for a suggestion what vit is good for the heart skipbeat?

How old are you? Please see your physician. My heart occasionally skips a beat (this is called "palpitations") and this can be caused by something as trivial as caffeine, stress, or reflux. It can also indicate a more serious condition, such as a hiatal hernia or even a leaky heart valve. Please see your physician immediately!

what is the best OTC supplement you can use for a weak heart or to help it heal itself.?

Posted by admin on Aug 20, 2009

Is Co-Q-10 a good product? what in your thought is good for the heart?

A weak heart has to be treated medically and any removable cause removed.

Supplements may have very little role.

What are the best natural cure for clogged heart arteries?

Posted by admin on Aug 19, 2009

Also, can you give me some of the best vitamins for the heart. I’ve heard vitamin C is good for the arteries but alas, unproven claims interspersing about vitamin c otherwise.

Some of my arteries or capillaries are apparently blocked coz of symptoms e.g. shortness of breath, on and off chest pains i’m feelin lately.

I’d visited physicians but all of them scoof me that i’m too young to have heart diseases. They perform some tests e.g. physical check up, ekg, & 2d echo w/ doppler and all upshots went well.

All i need to know now for the mean time, before another sojourn to a different doc, is the exceptional BEST HOME and NATURAL cure and extraordinary essential tips to declog this onset blocking.

Lastly, having an examplar blood pressure, does that underscores good heart too? If you have an onset clogged arteries does that affect blood pressure performance?

Thanks. I need badly the planet’s help!

Niacin can be used to increase your good cholesterol (HDL) and it is over the counter.

Extended release formulation (Niaspan®): 500 mg at bedtime for 4 weeks, then 1 g at bedtime for 4 weeks; adjust dose to response and tolerance; can increase to a maximum of 2 g/day, but only at 500 mg/day at 4-week intervals

You may experience flushing, sensation of heat, or headache; these reactions may be decreased by increasing dose slowly or by taking aspirin (consult prescriber) 30-60 minutes prior to taking niacin.
